Accessibility
The iOS accessibility features Dashi Dance supports, and where to learn how to turn each one on.
Dashi Dance is built to work with the accessibility features built into iOS and iPadOS. This page lists what the app supports; each section links to Apple's own guide for turning the feature on, so the steps always match your iOS version.
VoiceOver
Every screen — the player, recording, comparison, projects, and settings — is labeled for VoiceOver, including the scrubber (swipe up or down to scrub) and the loop, speed, and mirror controls. Turn on VoiceOver — Apple's guide.
Voice Control
Controls carry short, speakable names, so you can say things like "Tap Play" or "Tap Mirror". The floating windows also respond to "Go back". Use Voice Control — Apple's guide.
Reduced Motion
With Reduce Motion turned on, the app's animations calm down everywhere — nothing in Dashi Dance depends on an animation to finish a task. Customize onscreen motion — Apple's guide.
Dark Interface
Every theme works in light and dark appearance, and all text and controls keep their contrast in both. Turn Dark Mode on or off — Apple's guide.
Differentiate Without Color Alone
The app never relies on color alone: active controls also differ in brightness and shape, so everything reads in grayscale too. Differentiate without color — Apple's guide.
Sufficient Contrast
Text and controls are checked against the WCAG contrast thresholds in every theme, in both light and dark appearance.
Larger Text
The app supports Dynamic Type through the largest accessibility sizes. Where chrome must stay compact — the player controls and the small option chips — touch and hold shows a magnified preview (the Large Content Viewer). One iPad limitation is listed on the Known Issues page. Make text easier to read — Apple's guide.
One trade comes with that preview: since touch and hold summons it at those sizes, the player's frame-step buttons don't repeat while held there — single taps still step one frame at a time. The same applies under VoiceOver, which handles long presses itself.
