Camera, microphone, or Photos access was denied
Camera and microphone let you record yourself for side-by-side comparison — without them, recording can't start. Photos access is only needed when you add something to your library: saving an export or a Dashi wallpaper. If you said no by mistake, Dashi Dance's own dialogs offer an Open Settings shortcut right where the request happens, or you can go directly to iOS Settings → Dashi Dance and turn the relevant permission back on.
An import fails
Most import failures come down to an unsupported codec — the error message names the codec it couldn't read. Re-export the source as H.264 or HEVC (the formats iOS plays natively) and try again. As a rule of thumb, if iOS can play the file, Dashi Dance can import it.
Where exports are saved
Every export Dashi Dance makes goes to your Photos library, into one of two albums it creates for you:
- Dashi Dance Practice — single-video exports: a practice exported from its swipe actions, a Player export, Export Practice from Comparison, and every auto-exported recording.
- Dashi Dance Comparison — Export Comparison only, the side-by-side video of your practice next to the source.
They're regular albums, so the videos also live in your main library and in Recents; the albums just keep them together. Deleting a project or practice inside Dashi Dance never touches the exported copies.
An export fails or never appears
Check two things first: Photos permission (the error will say so if that's the cause) and free space on your device. If the export did complete, look under Albums for the two Dashi Dance albums above rather than scrolling the main library.
Why is a control badged Plus or Pro?
A Plus or Pro badge means the control belongs to a paid tier — tap a badged menu item to see what it unlocks, and check Dashi Dance Plus & Pro for what each tier includes. These subscription features can't be unlocked with an ad; only the free-tier essentials (playback, recording, export, and comparison) are ad-supported — see Dashi Dance Plus & Pro for how that works.
Where is my data? Do you track me?
Everything you record and every project you build stays on your device (or in your own iCloud, if you turn on sync) — there's no Dashi Dance account and no analytics SDK watching what you do. Ads are served by Google and governed by the consent choice you made; the full picture is in the Privacy Policy. If you're in a region with ad-consent rules, you can review or change that choice anytime — Settings → About → Ad Privacy Options.
The app and this help disagree
This help documents the current version of the app. If something here doesn't match what you see, update Dashi Dance — Settings → About shows your installed version, and an in-app banner will let you know when an update is ready.
